QUALITY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION in a CARING SPIRITUAL ENVIRONMENT

NKCA PRESCHOOL

10 Week – 30 Month:

This is where learning begins. The program provides a safe and nurturing environment while responding to each child’s growing interest and needs. Motor coordination is developed through games, puzzles, and blocks. Language development is encouraged through songs, play, and stories. The Toddler program focuses on the whole child and teaches your toddler about friendship, understanding his or her emotions, develop physical skills, and creative thinking and problem-solving.

0 – 12 Months

Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, behave, and move.  In the first year, babies learn to focus their vision, reach out, explore, and learn about the things that are around them. The way a parent or caregiver cuddle, hold, and play with a baby will set the basis for how they will interact with them and others.

12 – 24 Months

During the second year, toddlers are moving around more, and are aware of themselves and surroundings.  Their desire to explore new objects and people also is increasing. The focus of our Toddler 1 Class will surround story time reading, singing, nursery rhymes, naming objects, sorting shapes, matching games, simple puzzles, exploring, and begin feeding themselves.

24 Months – 3 Years

Toddler 2 classes will experience huge thinking, learning, social, and emotional changes that will help them to explore their new world, and make sense of it. The focus of our toddler 2’s & 3’s is reading, singing, pretend play, follow the leader, exploring, learning name & age, taking turns, encouraging positive behavior, coloring, sorting colors, shapes, and objects, learning our different emotions, & Potty training.

Preschooler 5 & 4

This is our PreK readiness classroom.  Our focus in this classroom is preparing your child for Kindergarten.  However, we focus our learning through play and interaction with our friends & adult teachers.  This is where the hands and feet of Christ begins, “to go out into the world” and share the love of Christ with love, grace, and mercy for others. Learning should be fun!

Before and After School Program

Curriculum Overview:

Children learn by doing. They learn through play, experimentation, exploration, and testing. Learning should be a joyful, natural experience. We have chosen a curriculum based on the developmental needs of the children in each the room and to foster individual growth through opportunities for exploration. 90% of brain growth occurs from zero to 5 years old. Each class’s lesson plans and your child’s class flexible schedule are posted on the parent’s board in your child’s room. We incorporate current trends in Early Childhood and School Age Education and then structure this curriculum to meet the needs of the majority of the children in the group. Our curriculum, although it will vary depending on age, is guided by the following underlying principals of active learning:

  • Children learn through dynamic investigation
  • Children instigate their own learning
  • Learning comes from open-ended experiences
  • Adults are facilitators of children’s learning

“NKCA is simply amazing. My children having been attending for just 4 months and have already learned so much! My 1 year old can sing/recite the days of the week and even the months of the year. She can also now sing all the most popular children’s songs, will actually sit at the table to eat with friends, and is starting to work on potty training! My 3 year old can say the Pledge of Allegiance and the Christian Pledge of Allegiance word for word as well can recite numerous Bible verses. He has grown a love for Bible story time and has even started to incorporate God in his play at home. He has learned proper pencil holding, is tracing his name, and is starting to work on each letter, sound and association of each letter of the alphabet. Also, when we first started he had an understanding of potty training but we had lots of accidents, NKCA stepped in and he has had no accidents since. We have loved the school pictures, field trips, resource days, and can’t wait for more! If you are looking for childcare that is committed to teaching, child development, fun and quality with teachers and staff who are warm and welcoming, look no further. We are proud to be apart of the NKCA and are excited for the years to come ❤️”
